Cleaning extruder worms

Effectively cleaning sensitive surfaces makes major demands of the cleaning techniques because extruder worms are usually coated and have to be cleaned when changing products.
Conventional blasting techniques such as sand or glass beads cannot be used because the coating would be damaged by the aggressive blasting material. Even the gentle dry ice technique runs up against its limits. The focused laser pulse impacts the surface at a high degree of intensity and the layer of dirt directly absorbs the energy of the laser beam. This causes the layer to suddenly evaporate »cold« without damaging the metallic base material. That's the best way to clean extruder worms.
