Removing layers of insulation with the dry ice technique is another pioneering idea for industrial applications.
Insulated pipelines and containers in nuclear power stations, combined heat and power stations, chemical plants and refineries are checked on a regular basis for sealing and functionality. That requires completely removing a layer of insulation that is as much as 800 mm thick.
With the dry ice technique, the insulating material (mostly PU foam) is completely removed from the surface without any residues. You can forget time-consuming manual work while components can be checked immediately without any reworking. Dry ice does not involve any exposure to steel granulate in the area of the industrial plant.
