It's not only antique fans who love their old cars. The most important thing when rebuilding antique cars is retaining as much of the old substance as possible. That means that dirt, oil, grease and preservatives (underseal) have to be removed without damaging the bottom.
Using dry ice liberates even sensitive surfaces of virtually all contaminations in a gentle fashion. Even lacquers and underseal can be removed safely and cleanly. The dry ice technique is useful for intensive cleansing of automobile and motorcycle engines.
Oxidation layers cannot be blasted metallically blank due to the fact that dry ice is non-abrasive.
